Remarks:
The 10-reel silent was the film on which Barrymore wooed his future wife, Dolores Costello, whom he would marry soon after the picture wrapped.

Caption:
The Sea Beast (Warner Brothers, 1926). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style A. The Warner Brothers brought John Barrymore to the studio in 1924 to lend credibility to their pictures and what more appropriate than to take on the classic Herman Melville story of Moby Dick. The film was a loose adaptation of the novel, rewritten to give the story more of a romantic flair. The 10-reel silent was the film on which Barrymore wooed his future wife, Dolores Costello, whom he would marry soon after the picture wrapped. Barrymore would later remember this film as his favorite and he would star in the remake of 1930 titled Moby Dick. This beautiful unrestored Otis stone litho one sheet has a tackhole in each corner as well as in the center top border. There is also an additional tackhole in the upper middle of the right border. There is minor cross fold separation and slight separation on the upper left horizontal fold. This is the first time that we are aware of that this poster has ever been offered at auction and we believe this to possibly be the only one sheet to this film still in existence! Very Fine.
