The Song of Bernadette (20th Century Fox, 1943). One Sheet (27.25 X 41) Style B. , France, 1858: Bernadette (Jennifer Jones), an adolescent peasant girl, has a vision of a beautiful lady in the city dump. Townsfolk infer it to be the Virgin Mary, and much furor is raised. As Bernadette attracts wider and wider attention, the phenomenon overtakes everyone in the the town, and transforms their lives, while the church wants nothing to do with it. Jennifer Jones made her comeback with this film (after acting under her real name of Phyllis Isley), and won an Oscar for her role. This is the B-style poster, which is by far the more desirable sheet for this title by virtue of the Norman Rockwell artwork used. Touchup has been applied to the folds, a small chip in the top left corner, small holes in three corners, and pinholes in the corners and background. Fine/Very Fine on Linen. , , Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
