A Modern Musketeer (Artcraft, 1917). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style B. , Douglas Fairbanks (in one of his earliest roles) grows up in ordinary Kansas, dreaming of high adventure in the style of Alexandre Dumas Three Musketeers. A chance comes to cast himself as DArtagnan, head out West, and rescue the lovely maiden (Marjorie Daw) which our hero does, in perfect Fairbanks swashbuckling style. Early paper for Fairbanks films are always treasures to find, but this beautiful stone litho one sheet really stands apart, with its rich colors and full length portraits of the stars. It has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the background, crossfold separations, missing paper in the bottom corners, a tear at the top and bottom that extend into the background, and a small tear under the title. The linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster. Fine- on Linen.
