Broadway (Universal, 1929). One Sheet (27 X 41). , One of the few sound films directed by Hungarian, Pal (Paul) Fejos (1897-1963), Broadway was shot as a sound and silent film and also made use of early two-strip Technicolor. This film was long thought to be lost until a copy recently surfaced in Hungary. The camerawork is fluid and inventive and was considered a great achievement in comparison to the static camera employed by almost everyone else at this time of the planted microphone. This film which starred Evelyn Brent, Glenn Tyron and Merna Kennedy was the last film Fejos would make in Hollywood before returning to his home where he would eventually become known as a great anthropologist. This is the only poster for this title we have ever offered and we are unaware of another copy of this poster! An unusual design with sepia photos with stone litho frame, this poster has just the most minor fold wear with touch-up before being linenbacked and conserved. Very Fine+ on Linen.
