Dillinger: Public Enemy No.1 (Midland Film Co., 1934). One Sheet (27 X 41). , After public outcry that the governments shooting a man in the back while leaving a movie theater was cowardly, J. Edgar Hoover commissioned this propagandic newsreel to make the FBIs killing of John Dillinger more heroic. This rare poster was part of a four-wall campaign by the makers, to be distributed independently around the country. It is more than likely that the film received a limited release, thus the scarcity of these posters! This vibrant one sheet features a terrific image of the depression-era bank robber. Backed on kraft paper, the poster shows pinholes in the image, smudging, wrinkling, and a misfold at the lower horizontal fold. Fine+ on Kraft Paper.
