Gay Love (Pam Pictures, 1934). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Sophie Tucker, the Last of the Red Hot Mamas, was born in Russia and raised in the US before the turn of the century. She went on to great fame in the Ziegfeld Follies and as one of the first major recording artists with such hits as Some of These Days, After Youve Gone, and Cheatin on Me. Her popularity spread to Europe and it was in London that she made this film in 1934, whose title had a decidedly different connotation in its day, in which she plays herself as a nightclub entertainer. She would continue on to Broadway in the late 1930s and throughout the 1950s and 60s she was hailed as The First Lady of Show Business! This wonderful and rare stone litho poster is in beautiful condition with only pinholes in the corners and some very slight crossfold separation. Very Fine+.
