Humanity (Magnet Releasing, 1913). One Sheet (30 X 39.5). Alternate Title: Only a Jew. , John Lawson wrote, directed and starred in this British melodrama. Its the tale of a Jewish gambler who saves a man from suicide, but later kills him after the man shoots his friend and seduces his wife. Lawsons film career (and that of his co-stars) seems to have been quite brief, however, his co-director Bert Haldane was active in filmmaking for nearly twenty years in Britain. This rare stone litho, like the film, is rife with drama. Signs of minor handling include light spotting in the top border, crossfold separation, and creasing in the borders. Great color, nice condition, and rareness make this piece an excellent find! Very Fine-.
