Meet King Joe (MGM, 1951). One Sheet (27 X 41). An amusing Technicolor propaganda cartoon which tries to explain why the Capitalist system in America is the best in the world. King Joe is a buffoonish Everyman worker who is told by an unseen narrator how and why the system works. The art deco-inspired poster shows Joe atop his techno-throne, as he is seen at the end of the cartoon. There was fold wear and crossfold separations, and edge chipping down the left border. Professional restoration has rendered these problems nearly invisible, leaving the viewer free to enjoy the feast of colors. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
