Glenn Miller, the famous band leader who met his fate when his plane was lost over the English Channel in WWII, stars in this musical about the travails of a traveling band and their wives. Look for Jackie Gleason in a small but well played role as the bass player in the band, a performance that certainly foreshadows his rise to stardom.
