Caption:
Sun Valley Serenade (20th Century Fox, 1941). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style B. , In what has become one of the most beloved musicals of the 1940s, Sonja Henie portrays an immigrant girl from Sweden who goes with the Glenn Miller Band to Sun Valley, Idaho to woo the bands pianist (played to perfection by John Payne). Though the plot was all fluff, the real reason people saw the film was for Henies ice skating sequences and musical numbers featuring the incredible talents of Dorothy Dandridge, the Nicholas Brothers and of course the big band King of Swing himself, Glenn Miller. This was one of two features Miller would make for Fox before his untimely disappearance over the English Channel in 1944. There were pinholes in the corners and some very minor bits of paper loss at the center points. There was also a scratch in the lower left corner that went through Milton Berles name, but all of these minor issues were addressed with professional restoration. This poster seldom turns up and is always popular with collectors. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
