Caption:
Taming of the Shrew (United Artists, 1929). One Sheet (27 X 41). This early talkie marked the second time Mary Pickford would speak in a talking film and really the first for Douglas Fairbanks. They appeared together in this film for the first time (if Pickfords small uncredited role in The Gaucho is not counted). The Shakespeare story was well suited to their talents and made money for the company with an audience anxious to see their favorite couple together. Each of the stars would make only three more films before retiring from the screen. This gorgeous one sheet is unrestored and has minor chipping at the upper crossfold and a larger chip from the lower crossfold in Fairbanks boot. If restored, this stone litho, H.C. Miner, poster would appear mint. Very Fine-.
