The Great McGinty (Paramount, 1940). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style B. , Offered in this lot is the rare style B one sheet from Preston Sturges The Great McGinty. Unlike the style A version, which features more photorealistic images of the characters, this item has a cartoon feel. Sturges would take home an Oscar for best screenplay for the film about a depression-era bum with a talent for placing crooked votes, who soon finds his way to running for mayor. Collectors are well aware of the rarity of posters on this title, making this a much sought after piece. This is the first time Heritage has offered any style one sheet on this title. Prior to restoration, the poster had pinholes in the borders, and an additional horizontal fold. Touchup has been done to the folds, and the borders have been airbrushed. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
