The Hurricane Express (Mascot, 1932). One Sheet (27 X 41). Chapter 6 -- The Airport Mystery. , Marion Michael Morrison, aka John Wayne, began his Hollywood career playing bit parts and working as a crew member. With his starring role in The Big Trail (1930), he changed his name to John Wayne and began to work his way to the top. In this serial, one of Waynes earliest starring roles, he plays pilot Larry Baker who is investigating a train wreck that killed his father. An unknown saboteur, nicknamed The Wrecker has made a practice of wrecking trains to steal important shipments throughout the twelve episodes. This rare one sheet for Chapter 6 features the Duke in action, manhandling his nemesis. The piece has had some light restoration to address a tear and chip in the right border, fold wear with small chips, and a small chip in Waynes face. The linen has been trimmed to the border and an extra horizontal crease can still be detected. Wayne fans, this one wont come up again soon, so dont miss your chance! Fine on Linen.
