Caption:
The Mender of Nets (Aywon, R-Early 1920s). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Although Mender of Nets was filmed very early in silent screen star Mary Pickfords career, the young ing??nue already had dozens of films to her credit by 1912. Director D.W. Griffith used his famous cross-cutting technique for this fast-paced melodrama that features Pickford as a fishermans daughter who mends her fathers fishing nets. She falls in love with a young man (Charles H. West), who proposes marriage despite his entanglement with another woman (Mabel Normand). Mabels brother finds out and attempts to kill West. This beautiful stone litho one sheet is filled with a dramatic image of the distraught Pickford. A first time offer from Heritage, this early reissue poster is in great condition. Professional restoration has addressed a chip in the left border, slight fold separation with minor paper loss, and touchup has been applied to fold wear. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.mary
