Caption:
The Noose (First National, 1928). One Sheet (27 X 41). This interesting silent era drama stars matinee idol Richard Barthelmess as Nickie Elkins, a two bit crook who murders his hoodlum father in order to save his mother (Alice Joyce) from blackmail. Joyce has just married Governor Bancroft (Robert T. Haines), and now must decide between her husbands political career or her sons life. There are several tears, one runs across the length of the poster just above the horizontal fold line. There are also several nicks, chips, and small areas of paper loss in the borders. The poster has been professionally restored, greatly minimizing these defects. This stone litho poster offers a vivid and bold portrait of both Barthelmess and Joyce. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
