Remarks:
Carson in fact, is actually Elia Bulakh, a former soldier in the Imperial Russian army, who would eventually bill himself as William Barrymore. Due to his heavy Slavic accent, Bulakh did not make a smooth transition to talkies

Caption:
The Pony Express Rider (Aywon Film, 1926). One Sheet (27 X 40.5). , With its classic Western image, this beautiful stone litho is from a silent film about a reformed outlaw (Kit Carson) who joins the Pony Express. Carson in fact, is actually Elia Bulakh, a former soldier in the Imperial Russian army, who would eventually bill himself as William Barrymore. Due to his heavy Slavic accent, Bulakh did not make a smooth transition to talkies, and chose to become a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Office. Touch-up has been applied to the folds, and airbrushing to chips and tears in the borders. Otherwise, its a fine looking poster with saturated colors and Old West imagery. Fine+ on Linen.
