The Scarlet Runner (Vitagraph, 1916). One Sheet (27 X 41) Episode The Gold Cigarette Case. , This 12-episode serial was less traditional than a series of a dozen self-contained stand-alone stories with a common theme: racing. Matinee idol Earle Williams plays a car-crazy youth who, after being disinherited by his uncle, hits the road in his fast auto called the Scarlet Runner and has a series of adventures. This gorgeous stone litho poster, for the episode The Gold Cigarette Case features a portrait of Earle, his prized auto as the backdrop, and a tagline that hints at possible intrigue with a mysterious woman. Professional restoration has addressed tears and chips in the borders and image area, with excellent results. This rare poster now displays beautifully. Very Good- on Linen.
