Caption:
The Scrapper (Universal Film Manufacturing, 1922). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Malloy (Herbert Rawlinson) is a recent college grad embarking on a career as a construction engineer. His boss (William Welsh) has a beautiful daughter (Gertrude Olmstead) that he falls in love with, but must contend with a bit of competition from one of his co-workers. Olmstead was ready to retire and made that strategic decision when the talkie era arrived. This is a beautiful example of lush stone litho design from the silent film period, showing only a few pinholes in each corner, edge wear with tiny tears, chips and light stains in the upper right border, a tiny chip off of the lower right corner, slight crossfold separation, and an extra horizontal fold. Fine+.
