Remarks:
Perhaps one of the biggest stars of the silent movie era, Swanson was known for her extravagant lifestyle, it was reported that she earned $8,000,000 between 1918 and 1929 and spent nearly all of it. She collected husbands (6) and lovers (Joseph Kennedy-father of Pres Kennedy)

Caption:
The Trespasser (United Artists, 1929). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Throughout the 1920s Gloria Swanson was one of the most glamorous and sought after-actresses in Hollywood, and her popularity with audiences turned her into an icon. She easily made the transition to sound pictures in 1929 with this romantic melodrama, cast here as Marion, a lowly stenographer who endures much heartache when her marriage to her love Robert Ames is annulled by his intolerant father. Directed by the eminent Edmund Goulding (A Night at the Opera, Dark Victory, Til We Meet Again, Nightmare Alley, etc.) this film was an early success, garnering an Academy Award nomination for Swanson. One of the reasons early posters are so popular with movie collectors is the gorgeous textures and effects resulting from the process of stone lithography, and this beauty is a prime example. Featuring unbelievable color, art deco design, and fine rendering of the faces, this is one very special and rare poster. It has been professionally restored to address a tear in the lower right at the bottom R, one in the lower left corner, one in the bottom border, and two in the top border. These issues no longer affect the poster, leaving the artwork in outstanding condition. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
