Caption:
Titans of the Deep (Grand National, 1938). One Sheet (27 X 41). Two prominent scientists, Dr. William Beebe and Otis Barton, used a diving apparatus called a Bathyspere to descend several thousand feet to the ocean floor, so they could study and film sea creatures, many of which had never been seen. This film was a documentary, but was often billed as an sci-fi/horror picture. This poster has had restoration of some chips within the border including one in the upper left corner border which measures one inch by one half inch as well as one in the lower left border which measures about the same. Both were entirely within the border. There were two tears within the image of the poster. A tear two inches long within the very bottom left corner of the image within the black above the copyright info and one which was one inch long within the KS in the lower right corner of the image. There was the minor fold wear and crosspoint wear that was restored as well. We sold a similar poster in July, 2004 for $1995. The poster grades as Very Fine- on Linen.
