Caption:
White Woman (Paramount, 1933). Full-Bleed One Sheet (26.5 X 39.75) Style A. , Silver screen goddess Carole Lombard started in pictures at a young age in the early 1920s, working at Fox, Pathe, and later finding a home at Paramount in 1930. The stunning one sheet from White Woman is from this early time at Paramount, when she was just gaining attention for her successes in comedies and dramas. In this racy pre-Code melodrama, Lombard plays a desperate singer who is saved from deportation by marriage to Malaysian plantation owner Charles Laughton. By the time she finds out that he is a brutal tyrant, it is too late and her only salvation is the plantation overseer, with whom she falls in love, leading to dire consequences. On this scarce, angst-filled poster Lombards classic blonde beauty is rendered to perfection along with co-stars Laughton and Kent Taylor. It has been a few years since Heritage presented this full-bleed one sheet, a sensationally rare item for collectors. A pinhole in each corner has been professionally restored, resulting in a highly impressive, display-worthy piece. Very Fine on Linen. , , Estimate: $10,000 - $20,000.
