Who Leads the National Army! (Triangle, 1917). WW I Recruitment Film One Sheet (27.5 X 41). War. , This is absolutely one of the rarest film posters associated with WWI you will ever see. The history of the Plattsburg Movement graduates forming the Military Training Camps Association to quickly produce officers to join the war effort is a book unto itself, which will prove fascinating reading. The short version is that this poster was used in the MTCAs and War Departments massive recruitment campaign in 1917/1918 to entice young men to attend their Officer Candidate Schools. Little is known of this film, but it must have included footage of the Plattsburg training camps, and other forms of nationalism. The stone litho image is impressive. Its an officer overseeing young men training in the field before him. The artist at one of the premiere printing shops of the day, Otis Lithograph, has given him the stoic, at attention, stance so necessary to respect commanding military decorum. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have tears, slight paper loss, creases, minor stains, edge wear, and/or some fold separation. Archival tape on the verso. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine.
