Remarks:
Thomas A. Edison was literally on the ground floor of the film industry, inventing many of the devices that would produce early cinema, and indeed issuing over 1200 mostly short films from 1894 to 1918.

Zebs Musical Career (Thomas A. Edison, Inc., 1913). One Sheet (27 X 41). Comedy. , Thomas A. Edison was literally on the ground floor of the film industry, inventing many of the devices that would produce early cinema, and indeed issuing over 1200 mostly short films from 1894 to 1918. Few posters have survived from the pre-1918 Edison era, and this is a terrific example. The photograph inset of the cast is remarkably clear for its age, and features comic actor, William Wadsworth. He was the lead comedian in all of Edisons Wood B. Wedd comedy short series. He was also in one of the first comedy/horror films ever made, A Lady of Spirits (Edison, 1914). What an amazing addition this would make to any silent or classic film collection. The poster has been restored and the linen trimmed to the edge of the poster. There was only fold wear with small chips in the fold separations. Very Fine- on Linen.
