Caption:
A Hero for a Night (Universal, 1927). One Sheet (27 X 41). This film stars Glenn Tryon as Hiram Hastings, a cabdriver who has dreams of becoming the next Charles Lindbergh. The only hitch in Hastingss plans is that he has never been in an airplane. To remedy this dilemma, he takes a correspondence course and learns to fly via the postal service. Patsy Ruth Miller plays the daughter of a wealthy soap manufacturer, and Hastingss sweetheart, and together they coerce her father into sponsoring a transatlantic plane flight. There is substantial paper loss around the borders of the poster that extend into the graphics in several places, and tears, holes and smaller areas of paper loss in the graphics. The poster has been professionally restored, greatly minimizing these defects. The beautiful stone lithography on this poster gives a wonderful display of early aviation art. From the collection of Jim Ashton. Very Good on Linen.
