Caption:
A Modern Enoch Arden (Universal, 1915). One Sheet (27 X 41). , The title of this courtroom drama takes its name from an Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, which was adapted into several films of the early teens. This updated version stars Adele Lande and William Dowlan and is one of the earliest films made by the new studio, Universal, or Big U, as it was known at the time. This is a rare item from the early days of one of the most important film companies, and is in remarkably nice condition. It is mounted on muslin, as was the custom in the early days of cinema. As these posters were often reused for multiple venues, the muslin made them more durable than they would otherwise have been. A small bit of the left and right edges have been folded back, there are crossfold separations, and one stain in the top right corner. For fans of the beginnings of Hollywood, this is a lovely and important item to own. Very Fine- on Muslin.
