Caption:
Ace In The Hole (Paramount, 1951). One Sheet (27 X 41). Film Noir. , In Billy Wilders film about sensationalism and the common man, Kirk Douglas plays Charles Tatum, a big city reporter who smells an opportunity to make the big time when a miner is trapped in a cave-in. Douglas exploits the miners plight, creating a national frenzy, and even delays the rescue to build more suspense. The films original theatrical opening was a bomb, so the studio rushed to change the name to The Big Carnival without director Billy Wilders permission. Paper from this film with the short-lived original title Ace in the Hole is difficult to find. An unrestored poster that displays signs of use. May include light edge or fold wear, slight fold separations, very minor paper loss, pinholes, or unobtrusive stains. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
