Caption:
Americas Answer (U. S. Army, 1918). One Sheet (27.75 X 40). , During World War I, the U.S. Committee on Information produced two documentary-propaganda style films to educate the American public. The first was called Pershings Crusaders and the second was Americas Answer. This film was part of the Following the Flag to France series that focused on the arrival in France of the first half-million American troops and detailed their progress. The gorgeous stone litho is vintage WWI showing the dough boys in the trenches, battleships, tanks, biplanes, and Lady Liberty bearing the sword of righteousness. For movie poster and war memorabilia collectors alike, this is an excellent piece of Americana, and light restoration has addressed its minimal condition issues (pinholes in the borders, light fold wear, a tear in the top left corner and right and left borders slightly into the background). Very Fine on Linen.
