Caption:
Aurora of the North (Universal Film Manufacturing, 1914). One Sheet (28 X 42). , Filled with a dramatic scene captured in bright, saturated color, this one sheet from the silent film Aurora of the North is a first time offer from Heritage. The 1914 drama stars Hazel Buckham and Robert Bob Leonard, who would also helm the serial picture The Master Key that same year. Leonard founded Tiffany Productions in 1919, and eventually landed at MGM in 1924. He would go on to be one of the studios most reliable contract directors, credited with directing Greta Garbo in her first American screen test, and two Academy Award Best Actresses -- Norma Shearer (Divorcee, 1930) and Luise Rainer (The Great Ziegfeld, 1936). This gem of a poster represents a wonderful opportunity for collectors interested in early cinema and the beautiful stone lithographic artwork of that era. The one sheet has been restored to address chips in the borders, folds and cross folds, and now displays nicely. Fine on Linen.
