Boston Blackie (Fox, 1923). One Sheet (27 X 41). , William Russell stars as thief-turned-gumshoe Boston Blackie in detectives first screen appearance! Hes trying to effect reform in the prison where he was once incarcerated and unfortunately, the corrupt warden gets the upper hand, and Blackie finds himself behind bars once again. Pulp writer Jack Boyles character proved popular with audiences in the first half of the century, as a string of Blackie films followed, many starring Chester Morris as the detective. This fabulous stone litho poster had long tears in the top and bottom borders which extend into the field, small chips in the borders, and missing paper on the lower right corner below the lithographers logo, and mis-folds at the fold lines, all of which has been addressed with professional restoration. The vibrant colors make this poster from the silent era a must! Fine on Linen.
