Caption:
Dinky Doodle in Egypt (Standard Cinema Corporation, 1926). One Sheet (27 X 41). Animator Walter Lantz created some of the most beloved animation characters in history including Andy Panda, Chilly Willy, and his most famous creation, the mischievous red-headed Woody Woodpecker. Early in his career, Lantz worked as a producer at the John Randolph Bray studio where he created a new animation series, Dinky Doodle, a little boy character with a canine pal named Weakheart. These cartoon shorts occasionally blended animation with live actors, including Lantz. In 1930, he made animation history by producing the first Technicolor cartoon: the five-minute opening sequence of The King of Jazz. In 1935, he founded his own production company where most of his characters were created. There has been trivial touch-up to small border nicks and chips and minor creases and scratches, otherwise this poster is in excellent condition. Heres a rare opportunity to acquire a poster from the early work of this animation pioneer. Very Fine+ on Linen.
