Caption:
Golden Eggs (RKO, 1941). One Sheet (27 X 41). , One of the best Donald Duck shorts of the 1940s, due to great animation and some superb writing by Carl Barks, the most widely read comic book artist of all time. It was Barks that expanded Donalds character to encompass every human emotion possible. This fun poster has Donald sneaking into the hen house to steal eggs due to the prices going up because of the war. Hes ridiculously costumed with a glove on his head, a feather duster for chicken tail plumage, and a dowdy chicken suit with patches. But it initially fools the Rooster on duty, who falls for this exotic new hen. One of the best parts of the cartoon was the brilliance of Clarence Ducky Nash being able to actually chicken cluck in Donalds voice! There were few original issues with only slight foldwear and some small chips in the top horizontal fold and in the top border. Top linenbacking and minimal touchup has this one looking egg-ceptional. Very Fine on Linen.
