Caption:
Hail Hal Roach (MGM, 1934). One Sheet (27 X 41). , This is an absolutely amazing piece of film history. Its a one sheet put out by MGM to announce that in 1934, the theatre would be proudly distributing comedy shorts by Hal Roach. This would be a solid and successful year for Roach as evidenced by the stars on the poster, all of whom would appear in shorts for him in 1934. Theres a great portrait of Roach above the Our Gang kids along the left side of the art, with Eddie Foy, Jr, Billy Bletcher, and Billy Gilbert to their right, with other All Stars. Below them is the very popular team of Patsy Kelly and Thelma Todd, and beneath them is Charley Chase, and of course, Laurel and Hardy. And who better to interpret this choice lot of merry-makers than the man of mirth himself, Al Hirschfeld. A high grade example for a time sensitive poster with a short shelf life. There is only some edge wear in the top border, mild crossfold separations, and two extra vertical creases. Be one of the fortunate few to ever own this great poster. Very Fine-.
