Hot Stuff (First National, 1929). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style B. , Alice White began her Hollywood career as a secretary and script girl, working for Josef von Sternberg and Charles Chaplin. By 1927, she found her way in front of the camera, becoming Warner Brothers answer to Clara Bow and in the process became one of the studios top stars. In Hot Stuff, White plays the wild child, sent to college by her over-protective aunt (Louise Fazenda) who insists on accompanying her as a chaperone in this pre-Code offering. In a separately filmed trailer, cast members talk to the audience about the film. There is very little paper on this part-talkie, making this gorgeous stone litho a fantastic find. The posters black background truly makes the artwork hot stuff and White captures the essence of the Roaring 20s flapper as no other. Restoration has addressed a tear in the top border, stain in the top left corner, and touch-up has been applied to fold wear. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
