t Aint No Sin/The Belle of the Nineties (Paramount, 1934). One Sheet (27.25 X 41) Style B. , Mae West, the Queen of pre-Code Hollywood, sings and seduces her way to fame and fortune in the sultry French Quarter of New Orleans. This sensational poster carries the films working title, It Aint No Sin instead of its actual release title, The Belle of the Nineties. By 1934, the Hays Commission thought the original title was a bit too suggestive and had Paramount retitle the film. Material with the original title is exceptionally challenging to find, and this is the first one sheet Heritage has presented. It was worth the wait, with Ms. West at her saucy best in rich, vibrant colors that look as though they were printed yesterday. A snipe for the release title was removed from over the original title, and slight color enhancement to that area has resulted in one of the most gorgeous and rare posters to surface in recent years. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
