Caption:
My Best Girl (United Artists, 1927). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Mary Pickford is one of the most important actors of the Golden Age of Hollywood. She began her film career in 1909 with D.W. Griffith at Biograph studios and soon made her mark with hundreds of roles as a tenacious ing??nue in both drama and comedy which appealed to mass audiences. Pickford then made her mark as a producer and in 1919, along with D.W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, and Douglas Fairbanks she formed the independent film production company United Artists. A powerful and intelligent filmmaker, her impact on the history of motion pictures cannot be exaggerated and she remains an iconic figure of the industry. This Sam Taylor-directed comedy features Pickford as a shop clerk with a heart of gold who supports her family and falls for the store owners son Charles Buddy Rogers (her future husband). Americas sweetheart is beautifully portrayed with her signature golden curls on this stunning stone litho one sheet, which has only minimal fold wear, edge wear at the right, a small tear at the bottom credits area, and a few light stains in the bottom border. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
