Caption:
San Quentin (Warner Brothers, 1937). One Sheet (27 X 41). , No studio made better prison films than Warner Brothers, and with Humphrey Bogart headlining the cast, you knew you were in for a true gangster epic. Bogart stars as Joe Kennedy, a con sent up for robbery who becomes aware that a prison guard (perennial good guy Pat OBrien) has fallen in love with his sister (Ann Sheridan). Bogart breaks out of San Quentin just so he can put a stop to the romance. Bogart made an entire career by playing gangsters during the last half of the 1930s and this was one of the best. With striking life-size images of the three lead actors, this version of the one sheet is perfect for Bogart enthusiasts. Restoration has addressed pinholes in the corners, a tear in the lower right border that extends into the credits, a tear in the bottom right corner, a small chip in the left border, and touch-up has been applied to the folds and corners. The linen has been trimmed to the borders. Fine+ on Linen.
