Sidewalks of New York (MGM, 1931). Australian One Sheet (27 X 40). , Comic genius Buster Keaton moved to MGM in 1928, where he benefited from bigger budgets, but ultimately lost creative control over his work. This romantic comedy is one of his better pictures from this time, and co-stars Anita Page. He plays a wealthy young man who falls for a Lower East Side girl (Page) and tries to reform her wayward brother and his gang by building a gymnasium and teaching them boxing. Full of his trademark stunts and impeccable timing, the film was a hit. Offered here is a rare Australian poster, with great artwork by the inimitable Al Hirschfeld, which has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the corners, and touch-up to some areas of surface wear and a small hole in the image area. This is a fun Hirschfeld caricature of one of Hollywoods greatest legends. Very Fine- on Linen.
