Caption:
Son of Kong (RKO, 1933). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style A. , This is a beautiful poster for the sequel to one of the most popular films of all time, King Kong. A romantic and adventurous image of Robert Armstrong and Helen Mack, with menacing natives in background, this rarely turns up. Wanting to immediately cash in on its blockbuster hit, RKO immediately went into production on a sequel. Son of Kong begins where King Kong left off, as entrepreneur Carl Denham (Armstrong) returns to Skull Island and discovers a lovable 12-foot high baby Kong. Poster material for Son of Kong is practically impossible to find. This is one of those very scarce pieces, a style A one sheet, one of only a few known to exist. This is a great opportunity to acquire material from one of the early monster cinema classics. There was a censor stamp between the O and N of SON, very light fold wear, a chip in the left border, and pinholes and slight tears along the borders. Professional touchup has been applied, and the poster is now highly presentable. Fine+ on Linen.
