Mutt and Jeff in The 75 Mile Gun (Fox, 1918). One Sheet (27 X 41). , Its thought that Mutt and Jeff creator Bud Fisher made this animated short while serving in WWI as a captain in the British Army. Stationed near the front in France, Fisher completed The 70-Mile Gun, which relates the capture of the German ??ber- cannon which has been shelling Paris. The film was released in June of 1918, and after the war ended in November of that year, Fisher continued to make Mutt and Jeff shorts until 1926. This very rare one sheet has had restoration and airbrushing to address multiple chips and tears in the borders and image area. The title was changed from The 75 Mile Gun to The Seventy Mile Gun. Good/Very Good on Linen.
