The Eagle of the Sea (Paramount, 1926). One Sheet (27 X 41) Style A. , Ricardo Cortez as Captain Sazarac and Florence Vidor as Louise Lestron (the woman he loves) starred in this swashbuckling tale of piracy and adventure on the high seas. Based on a novel by Charles Tenney Jackson, Sazarac must protect both himself and his beloved from the depredations of Louises evil uncle (Sam DeGrasse), who plots to embroil England and Spain in a war with Sazaracs help. The film also featured a little known actor, Boris Karloff who was still five years away from creating his legendary monster in Frankenstein. Cortez and Vidor are beautiful together in a soft red wash on this very rare Style A stone litho poster. The piece has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the borders, a tear in the top border into the credits and fold wear. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
