Caption:
The Eyes of Mystery (Metro, 1918). One Sheet (27 X 41). , In one of the earliest features from director Tod Browning, Edith Storey portrays a dual role; that of a mother and her daughter. Browning started his directorial career three years earlier and would go on to become one of the most influential directors of the 1920s as well as the man who would bring Lon Chaney to prominence. This impressive one sheet features a beautiful stone litho portrait of the leading lady. With brilliant colors, the poster has only minor issues including light color touch to the fold lines (with a bit more in Ms. Storeys chin) and to the borders where there was some chipping. There was a bit larger chip out of the center of the lower border, but the poster has been expertly restored and it now appears quite nice. Very Fine on Linen.
