The Flying Fleet (MGM, 1929). One Sheet (27 X 41). This was one of famed Navy Commander Frank Spig Weads first script-writing efforts. Wead came to Hollywood to work after an accident that severely handicapped his legs and ended his Navy career. This silent film, starring Ramon Novarro and Anita Page, was released with synchronized music and sound effects, and features the story of six U.S. Naval Academy cadets who are attending flying school. The film is noted for its superb flying scenes. This poster is the rare rotogravure style and has edge and corner chips, edge tears, and fold wear. There is also a hole in the wing of the airplane. The poster has been mounted on linen and professionally restored, giving it a very clean appearance. From the collection of Jim Ashton. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
