In 1927, William Matthaei purchased the Roman Meal Company from Dr. Jackson, keeping its headquarters in Tacoma. From this Roman Meal multi-grain cereal, he developed Roman Meal bread. Today, the Roman Meal company still exists with licensing rights in the Far East; they sold the rights to the U.S./Canada/Mexico to Flowers Foods in Thomasville, GA in 2015.
